Extended Bio:
Dj Bliss has been playing the city's club scene every week for nearly a decade. He regularly explores a number of musical styles ranging from all styles of Breaks and Electro and House. Recognized as one of the city's most musically diverse djs, Bliss is a purist's nightmare. He has been involved in a number of very successful club nights notably The Grill (Breakbeats) and Voyeur (Electro). Over the past few years he has played hundreds of venues across the city, from small clubs to afterhours events alongside such luminaries as Dj Krush, Afrika Bambaataa, MSTRKRFT, Girl Talk, Freddy Fresh, Kool Herc, Atomic Hooligan, Aquasky, Thievery Corporation, Kid Koala, Krafty Kuts, Bebel Gilberto, Bonobo and The Streets to name a few. During his 16 years as a Dj, Bliss has traveled and played all over the world, notably the U.S., Africa, Israel, France and the UK.
His first club residency in Montreal was at one of the city's oldest nightspots Le Passeport (in 1997) where he was the main resident for 3 years playing a mix of Electro, Breaks, Industrial and Alternative sounds to a packed house every Friday and Saturday.
In 1999, Bliss co-founded The Grill (with Dj T'cha). It eventually became the most reputable and longest running weekly of its kind (4 years). Often referred to as a "breaks" institution its reputation stretched well outside Montreal, not only for its global approach to breaks but also for its unique party atmosphere and notable out of town breakbeat superstars such as Krafty Kuts and Atomic Hooligan. It was voted second Best Club Night by the Montreal Mirror poll in 2001. The Voir voted Bliss among Montreal's top 3 funkiest Djs in its 2002 poll.
In 2003, Bliss also become resident at Chemistry, Montreal's longest running electro orientated club night (originally founded by Jordan Dare). Packed and sweaty every weekend it quickly became Montreal's "point de reference" for all things electro. In 2004 the night was into revamped Voyeur with Bliss and Jordan Dare as residents to become one of the best club nights in Montreals recent history. In 2005 the immensely popular Voyeur weekly was moved to the much bigger Societe Des Arts Technologique venue where it continues to occur on a monthly basis where it continued to run until 2007.
Bliss has also been resident at a number of other specialized club nights such as Flexout (IDM/Breaks) and is the founder of the monthly Mind The Gap event, Montreal's only night dedicated to British Pop & Indie music. He also hosted a short lived internet radio show in 2000 (Beats N`Breaks on Sweet-ting.com) and worked for many years as manager and Breaks/Electro buyer for the renowned Noize record store. Bliss also produces music with longtime friend Freqboy under the name Answer. He has also been featured in a number of short documentaries and movies (in particular a documentary on St. Laurent) and has guested on many of the cities major radio stations.

Yeah, yeah – he’s the “hardest working DJ in Montreal”: I know, I see him walking up the Main, heading back home after his sets almost every other night I go out. While I would tend to concur, that’s unquestionably not the sole reason to appreciate Bliss.
A thru melomaniac, Bliss is not content to just sit back and limit his selection to the latest hits. Rather, he disperses just the right amount of surprising new grooves and classics cuts throughout the whole of his mix, providing opportunities for both green and seasoned clubbers to appreciate his selection and/or wonder what the hell is going on.
Of course, all this is done with the finesse and confidence of a vinyl veteran whose resumé is highlighted by a trio of Montreal breaks & electro institutions: The Grill, Chemistry & Voyeur.
A down to earth guy, Bliss always elevates a party’s mood to heavenly heights, which is kind of funny considering he shares his residency at Voyeur with the Prince of Darkness: Jordan Dare.
Steve Lalla, that guy who writes for The Hour, recently picked him as his number one DJ in Montréal, and we consider ourselves lucky to count him as one of our top 10 friends on MySpace.
